ATTAR PRIME

Attar Prime is our interpretation of attar perfumery, combining traditional ideas with modern composition.

We do not limit the collection to one carrier. Sandalwood is often our starting point, but depending on the fragrance, we also work with materials such as oud, balsams, benzoin, and other aromatic bases.

Each carrier becomes part of the composition itself, influencing the texture, depth, development, and character of the finished attar.

Traditional where it makes sense. Experimental where it gets interesting.

WHAT IS AN ATTAR?

Attar, also called ittar, is a concentrated style of perfumery with a long tradition throughout India, the Middle East, and surrounding regions.

Traditionally, attars were often created by slowly distilling flowers, woods, herbs, spices, and resins, then capturing their aromatic character in a natural base such as sandalwood oil.

Modern attars can take many forms, but they are generally oil based and alcohol free. Unlike conventional spray perfume, which is typically diluted primarily in alcohol, an attar develops gradually with the warmth of your skin. It tends to wear closer, feel richer and smoother, and evolve more slowly over time.

A fragrance oil is a broader category. It simply describes an aromatic composition carried in oil and can contain natural materials, synthetic aroma materials, or both.

Attar refers more specifically to a style and tradition of concentrated oil perfumery.

In simple terms: perfume emphasizes diffusion and projection. Fragrance oil describes the format. Attar emphasizes concentration, intimate wear, and the tradition of oil based perfumery.

HOW TO WEAR AN ATTAR

Attars are highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way.

Apply a small amount directly to pulse points such as your wrists, inner elbows, neck, or behind the ears. Allow the warmth of your skin to slowly develop the fragrance throughout the day.

Start with less than you think you need. You can always add more.

Let the attar settle naturally on the skin instead of rubbing your wrists together.

Attars can also be layered with other fragrances. Apply the attar first, allow it to settle into the skin, then add your perfume if desired.

Because these are concentrated oil-based fragrances, avoid applying directly to delicate or light-colored fabrics, as some compositions may leave a mark.
